THE ART OF CARE
Beautiful cashmere deserves thoughtful care.
With a few simple gestures, your YUMALY pieces can retain their softness, shape and beauty over time.
THE BRUSHING RITUAL
Brushing is an essential part of caring for brushed cashmere.
Our REVIVE Brush is crafted with natural horsehair bristles and solid wood. Used gently,
it refreshes the surface of the cashmere and helps maintain its soft, airy appearance.
Brush delicately, always following the natural direction of the fibres.
A LITTLE EXTRA CARE
The REVIVE Brush can also be used on classic cashmere to remove surface pilling without pulling at the natural fibres. Use firmer strokes on areas affected by pilling, brushing several times until the surface feels smooth again.
On our brushed cashmere, its primary role is to revive the texture and preserve its soft, airy
appearance. In our testing, YUMALY brushed cashmere has shown no visible pilling.
WASH WITH CARE
Cashmere does not need frequent washing. Between wears, simply allowing your garment to air can help refresh the fibres and allow them to recover naturally.
When washing becomes necessary, treat your cashmere with care, or entrust it to a professional dry cleaner.
COLD HAND WASH
Gently immerse the garment in cold water with a small amount of wool detergent. Press lightly without rubbing.
RINSE GENTLY — DO NOT TWIST
Rinse in clean, cold water until the water runs clear. Never wring or twist the garment.
REMOVE EXCESS WATER
Place the garment between two dry towels and press gently to absorb excess water. Alternatively, place it in a laundry net and use a very short spin cycle at the lowest speed, maximum 400 rpm.
DRY FLAT
Gently reshape the garment and leave it to dry naturally on a flat surface.
KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT
Keep away from radiators, direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
IRONING
Ironing is generally unnecessary. If needed, iron on the reverse side at a low temperature.
REST FOR THE SEASON
Before storing your cashmere away for the warmer months, wash it carefully and allow it to dry completely.
Fold it gently and keep it protected in a fabric pouch or your YUMALY tote, in a cool, dry place.
A piece of cedarwood placed nearby, without direct contact with the cashmere, can help deter moths naturally.
